I am researcher at the Research Lab for Educational Technologies, where I am also serving as vice-head, and lecturer at the Department of Knowledge and Business Engineering. I am currently engaged as postdoc researcher in the iCOPER project funded by the EU under the eContentplus programme, and with teaching courses in computer science and in media competence.
From 2001 to 2005 I was research assistant at the Research Lab for Educational Technologies, and until 2008 I was employed as researcher in the Technology-Enhanced Learning project. During my project work and PhD research I published around numerous peer-reviewed papers on various educational technology topics in international journals and conference proceedings.
I studied Business Informatics at the University of Vienna (MSc in 2001, PhD in 2005). During my master studies I worked as software developer in various industry and office software projects. I wrote my masters thesis on business process-oriented software engineering under supervision of Prof. Dimitris Karagiannis and Harald Kühn. During my PhD study my focus shifted to applying engineering, social science methods and computer science concepts to problems in the technology-enhanced learning domain. My PhD thesis, which was supervised by Prof. Renate Motschnig, is on patterns for person-centered e-learning. It was published as a book in 2006.
